The summons to examine our inner awareness can come in many guises. For Samantha, the protagonist in our story, it is in the form of brown fingers wrapped around a glass.

At midlife she is, after the death of her second husband, financially rich but poor in experience of life. The trigger for her odyssey into eventual spiritual transformation occurs through her falling in love on holiday.
